Thursday, May 7th, 2009The other day Missy was grooming a small scrape on her back with a piece of bark. Chimps love to groom injuries, so if no one else was going to help her, Missy was going to find a way to do it herself.
For Negra, it’s never too warm for a blanket. I think she just feels more secure when she’s wrapped up in something.

Tips from the chimps – How to build a better drinking fountain
Monday, June 30th, 2008One of the many reasons why I love caring for chimpanzees is that they continually surprise me. This morning, Sarah and I opened the front rooms for cleaning, and we discovered that someone had modified one of their drinking fountains overnight, using a straw from their breakfast smoothie. It works much better now than it did before. J.B.
