Roslyn Olympics – history in the making

Wednesday, August 3rd, 2011

There may be nothing that can truly capture the spirit of the July 30, 2011 Roslyn Olympics and the Troll Games, but here is an attempt…

In addition to ARRF Animal Rescue, thanks also to Matthew Wenz who designed the awesome Roslyn Olympics posters and to sponsors Cascade East Animal Clinic, Abbotts Printing Inc, Roslyn Downtown Association, Jeb’s Pet Supply and 93.7 KXA The Wind!

In preparation for Foxie’s birthday and the Troll Olympics, several supporters have been gathering troll dolls. Foxie and the town of Roslyn, where the Troll Olympics will be held, have no idea what’s in store…

Just take a look at the dolls that Monica found for Foxie! This photo was taken before she packed them up and shipped them to the sanctuary:

If you’re local, I hope you’ll join us at the Troll Olympics on July 30th. Let me know if you’d like to volunteer.

If you’re not local, well, perhaps you can create your own troll celebration and let us know about it.

Big thanks to our partner ARRF Animal Rescue who is having their 2nd annual Doggie Olympics before the Troll Olympics at the same location – you should definitely come to both!

And thanks to sponsors of the Roslyn games: Abbott’s Printing, Inc., KXA 93.7 The Wind (if you know the area, you know why the local radio station is called The Wind!), Roslyn Downtown Association, Cascade East Animal Clinic and Jeb’s Pet Supply.

Sippin’ menu

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Sippin’ for the Seven is going to be a not-to-miss evening in Roslyn. Get your tickets if you haven’t already. I’ll be updating the event page soon to include local lodging offering discounts to attendees. First, though, check out the food!

Chefs Ben Kulikowski and Frank Schuchman will be preparing these nibbles:

Sausages in three varieties: Italian, Mexican Chipotle and Smoked Apple Sage (the good folks at Field Roast Grain Meat donated a case of sausages for the event)

White Bean Paté

Bruschetta bar featuring the following tapenades: tomoto basil, wild mushroom, and marinated artichoke with roasted red bell pepper

Hummus and crudité

I am hungry already…

Thanks to Sippin’ event sponsors: Poppoff Inc., Vintage Vine, 93.7 The Wind, and Inland Networks

Sippin’ 4 the Seven

Saturday, February 7th, 2009

So, we have this totally amazing and fun event coming up – a wine tasting in Roslyn, WA being organized by this cool wine and antique shop called Vintage Vine. The event, Sippin’ for the Seven, among many other things, will be the debut of the new photo slideshow – all of the great photos of the chimpanzees in a five and a half minute slideshow set to music.

In my ideal world, everyone who reads the blog would be able to come and celebrate, raise a bit of needed funds, see the slideshow and listen to stories of the chimpanzees.

This is kind of a big event for us, so anyone who lives remotely close by should definitely try to make it. Roslyn is a great town (it’s where they filmed the show Northern Exposure), and there are places to stay overnight if you’d rather not drive back home after the sippin’.

If you really can’t come, we understand (say you live in South Carolina or California, for example). You can still participate in the event by making a donation. If you donate $40 or more using this donation form: http://chimpsanctuarynw.kintera.org/Sippin, I will send you a wine glass with the CSNW logo on it and a really nice postcard.

If you own a business, you can sponsor the event and we’ll include your business in the event program – contact me for details: diana@chimpsanctuarynw.org

Let’s see how much fun we can all have raising funds for the Cle Elum Seven!
