I sometimes think it is really interesting to look back at the photos of the chimps’ first few days in sanctuary. It’s shocking how much they have changed. Here is a picture of Missy in June 2008:

That is because she is so well loved now!!!!!
Mush younger and healthier.
Oh, my, what huge difference, one huge difference is the quality of their fur, or lack there of,, she looks amazing,,
CSNW caregivers, volunteers, and all staff, are to thank for that,
These seven chimps have been given an extrordinary life, from one extreme ,to complete opposite. They ALL are VERY aware of this fact,,
I must admit they all looked like holocaust survivers when they arrived,
NOW they all shine, exude confidence,
and they’ ve all become FOODY”S
These pictures warm my heart…..thank you for posting them!
I think it’s also great that Missy gets to do what she does (with her best buddy Annie) on Young’s Hill.
Her eyes look so tired and wary in that first picture. It is so nice to see a peaceful look and a fur-covered belly in the second. You do amazing work, CSNW.
I think everyone who thinks about passing any legislation that would keep even one chimp in “service” should see the before and after photos of all the chimps. Then they should go home and sleep on it.
