I’m noticing Foxie’s hair is so fluffy.
I love the close up of Foxie’s eyes. Do all chimps have brown eyes? Is there ever any variation?
Photos of humans can reflect the relationship of the photographer and the subject: if the subject feels comfortable, safe and relaxed, it shows. The same goes for these photos. Bravo!
Jackie….these photos warmed my heart. Amy….I totally agree with your post!
I loved what you said Amy, it’s very true, I’d never thought of it that way.
Kat, what I find interesting about the chimpanzee’s eyes is the sclera, I looked it up, the white part, is actually dark brown or black. I would think it’s for camouflage and, or, eye protection from the sun, maybe. The eye color seems to range from light to dark amber. There was a baby picture of Kona, born at the Dallas Zoo, and she was probably a few days old, but her eyes looked gray. It could also have been from the camera flash.
WOW, that close-up of Foxie absolutely took my breath away. She looks so precious, kind of like she’s saying, “Okay, you can take my photo, but then we need to have a serious discussion about what we are going to play next.”
Amy, your comment was perfect. They look so content to have their pics taken, hats off to you, Jackie.

They look they are posing saying, “Yes, I am beautiful.” And they are!
