Today Foxie nested in straw, following Jody’s lead. I’m pretty sure this is the first time we’ve seen Foxie nest with straw! See video:

Darling Foxie! Watching Foxie compared with Jody making a nest it almost seems that Foxie doesn’t really know how to do it. This would never have happened in the wild I imagine.
This is SO wonderful!! Complete with flying trolls!
Yea Foxie! She looked pretty pleased with herself. And thanks for the heads up before the troll came flying – I was so focused on Foxie’s process I might have missed it had I not been forewarned :)
Did Foxie ever relax in her nest? She looked like she didn’t know quite what to do with herself after she laid down. I loved the flying trolls. She knew that she was supposed to drape the nesting materials over her head and behind her back. She just did it with trolls (like everything else.)
Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! Oh, my gosh! Foxie laying down on straw and moving a few pieces of straw around to get comfortable, yahoo!
I tell you Jody is the consummate nest builder the way she adjusts her nest as she’s lying in it, wonderful to watch.
Kat – Foxie didn’t really spend much time in the nest. She’s getting there, though! It was really exciting for me to witness her lay down in it.
I saw the title for this entry, “Foxie Nesting”, and I turned to my husband and said “this one’s going to make me cry.” and sure enough, this one made me cry. I was so happy to see Foxie get “almost” comfortable in that nest. I can’t wait for the video of her “completely” comfortable in her nest.
Atta girl, Foxie! I loved the flying trolls. Our Foxie is getting there. I didn’t think she would spend much time in her new nest because she didn’t look relaxed but at least she is actually building nests. Great news!
Sarah told me about this the other day and i didn’t see it until now – BIG smile!
I didn’t realize those were flying trolls!! It’s definitely a beginning and I think she’s doing really well. One day we’ll see here get her nest just right and she’ll be able to relax and rest in it!! It all takes time.
